To see the town of Kirkby what it formerly was and to make use of the land ina better way than just build more houses on.
Facilities within the town for the residents of Kirkby are essential.
The present plans for Kirkby town centre, as per the leaflet advertising the Vision Kirkby meeting tonight, show that the council is really only interested in houses. There are already at least 4 sites around Kirkby being built on at present. The basic facilities are not available to support this or further housing developments. In 2001 whilst visiting a new housing site I was told that Kirkby had already reached saturation point. The council has continued to build. What plans does it have for doctors, dentists, more than one supermarket, leisure facilities and providing an environment that is safe and provides a quality life experience? The council is already failing to meet it’s contractual obligations in a number of areas. How will the proposed development help them in this area?
